someone had an amazing day. and that someone was me. it was one of those iffy days that started out gorgeous, but once everyone got used to the beauty, it began to gust like stink. then the clouds came over and hung out in a very foreboding phalanx around the northern bit of narragansett bay. at about 5:00, it poured for a good three minutes, lightened up, and stopped raining for good. Rebecca and i decided to drive up to the race in her car, so we left from portsmouth by 5:50 and were in Warren, paid our entry, pinned our numbers, and were at the starting line for a prompt 6:30 gun. and like bats out of hell, we were off.
i can't say much for the run- it was a similar course to what we've run before- very enjoyable and fast. i was the fourth woman overall through the chute with a time of 37:28 which is a personal best for me i do believe. after the race, i went to the gym to work out for a bit- afterall, i only ran for 38 minutes lol that isn't what one would call a complete workout. i don't really know what it was that put the extra pep in my step today. i've developed a new running crush, so maybe that is what gives me butterfly wings... either way, it's working!
i got home slightly before ten, and found my package waiting for me- my new Asics Gel Kayano 18s... they are simply divine! oh, what a day. i can't wait to see what the weekend has in store for me. ;-)
