i can handle this.

friday, i was able to jog all the way down spring street up until where ruggles intersects coggelshall.  i turned around on ruggles and walked back home on spring street- pride not broken.  still in tact.

sunday, running buddy and i ventured out, and made it all the way to rovensky.  stretched, and then jogged back home (we live within 200 yards of eachother)

monday, i headed out past rovensky not very far before turning around- making it an honest 4 miler so we wouldn't feel depressed about not running in the bridge race this year.  we met for the first time when Carin's son, eric dropped us all off at the beginning of the bridge race last year.  oh, and the after party, of course.

yesterday, i rested.  cycled ocean drive instead, and walked dave for about 2 hours.

today was the grand milestone.  i did five miles tonight.  never thought i'd ever be proud of just finishing a five mile jog (not run, mind you) but here i am feeling as though i'm learning to run again.   realistically, this was my last run in the ocean state for the next six months.  when i come home, it will be may.  i won't consider doing speedwork again until my knee is healthy...  luckily i'll be in the caribbean this time next week tan and happy.  i'm hoping i can get into some sort of running routine down there even if i'm not training for anything big.  let's see what happens.  hoping for the best as usual.
