in an effort to keep me off my feet and in a somewhat relaxed state, the bff and i went to the cinema last evening to see my new favorite flick... Lawless.  i'm somewhat obsessed with this film because one of the main characters just rocks my socks all the way.  yes, i realize that this is only a character the actor is portraying, and it is of someone 80 years ago who is long dead... but hot damn...  he's pretty fantastically sexy in that if he were here right now, my running panties would be on the ground.  for a while, i've maintained that through some type of gross mishap, i was born 100 years too late.  i don't think that real men of that caliber exist anymore.  men of few words.  men who punch people in the face, and shoot guns.  men who know how to handle the likes of me.  oh, but i digress.  this is a running blog.  if i were born 100 years ago, i probably wouldn't be competing in the marathon next month, so this is all irrelevant.

i fell asleep at a respectable hour, worked for the better part of the work day, and then skipped kickboxing tonight.  this was a difficult decision.  i'll go back to kickboxing after the 22 miler this week, but i don't think it's a good idea to be jumping around until after the long run.  that way, if anything happens- if anything goes awry or gets hurt, i won't be able to look back and say "I shouldn't have gone kickboxing."  three days to recover from a 50 mile week, and prepare for my longest training run.  realistically, i'm not that obsessed with the gym that i need to push those limits.  i've been on and off my bike a lot yesterday and today as well as working at the shipyard, so that's probably too much as it is.  we will see.  i'm cooking a butternut squash for supper tonight.  mmm.  carbs.
