2012, you were a good year. i will always remember you for your quiet winter night frolics down bellevue- and around ocean drive... endless training runs for the March 25 marathon. and even more adventurous distances for the October 14 marathon. My Valentines Day present was early registration for the Broad Street Run- which closed open registration in just 3 hours the very next day. and a 15 mile run that night.
you were a peaceful year.
you were a happy year.
i ran my first 6:30 mile this year.
i broke my 10 mi PR. twice.
2012 was a successful year. 2012 was the year we said goodbye to Black Watch. and that was hard. 2012 was an inspirational year because it brought along with it new challenges which were entirely welcome and necessary. 2012 was a dignified year. and a beautiful year. 2012 was a fun year- filled with dancing, singing, laughing, and bubbly champagne.
there is really only one place for me to be to honor the last few moments of this splendid year, and to observe the very first minutes of a brand new one - which already has a tough act to follow. on the treadmill, running into what is just another day. :-)
