officially, i began jogging the day after Thanksgiving (coincidence?) in St Maarten around Fort Louis in Marigot... only 30 or 35 minute runs- for the first time since the marathon. we left for St Barth a few days later, so I was able to do my hikes from Gustavia up to Lurin, and down to Governers Beach- back up to Lurin again, and down to Gustavia. that takes about an hour, and for a six mile trail, instead of running back to Gustavia, I would swing around beyond the airport towards St Jean, up airport hill, and back into Gustavia through the front door. only six miles, but can take an hour and a half due to unimaginably steep inclines. I find running in St Barth very stimulating and completely rejuvenating. everything is incredibly beautiful. i've added some photos of my running adventures. as it is, we are in Tortola at the moment, and i've just done an hour of pilates under a crystal clear sky of shooting stars up on the bow of my boat. fresh breezes, and casey is swaying in a hammock on deck. yesterday, i ran six on the treadmill, and today i ran seven. guess i'm back in the game!
