tempo.

it's day five of the blood type meal plan, and i haven't noticed any significant changes in my energy level.  my ability to wake up at 5AM has been compromised by my social schedule though, so i'm not sure how i feel about that.  apparently Os are not meant to consume yogurt, and yogurt being 75% of my diet, i can't say i've successfully phased it out.  or have come anywhere close to starting.  no wheat, no gluten products, and that's been difficult- no Fiber-One cereal!  no Fiber-One bread!  this is disappointing.

last night we had another run to the top of the east hill, and i was able to do it in a marginally faster time.  and without being eaten by a dog.  by the time we get back into the marina village, Austin says "alright.  strong finish.  let's push this, both of us."  and then we each run as fast as we can back to the pool and he always beats me by at least 15 seconds... and i don't see that gap closing any time soon.  i need to keep up the out of doors running though because BSR is coming- 3 months away (haha) but registration is already happening.

today was a tempo run for six miles.  austin and i took turns setting the pace, and in all honesty, it probably turned out not to be a tempo run at all on account of the two big hills we ended up having to hike all the way to the top of... but it felt nice, and like i was in st barth again!  but the pace was an honest 7:30, and i scooted along  quite nicely despite the sun and the heat at 5:00PM.  we ended sometime around six when it started to cool down.  i probably could have gone for another few miles, but we decided on an early dinner and had a delicious time at PegLeg's- still no gluten for me.... unless bushwackers have gluten in them...?
